Yes, Indian passport holders need a visa for Singapore. The good news: it's one of the easiest visas you'll ever apply for. Most applications are online through an authorised agent, need no interview and come back within a few working days.

Here's exactly how it works, what to keep ready and the small mistakes that cause delays.

Rules changeEverything here reflects the process as of October 2026. Always confirm on the official ICA website (ica.gov.sg) or the Singapore High Commission in India before you apply.

The process at a glance

StepWhat you doTime
1Book flights and a hotel (refundable is fine)Before applying
2Pick an authorised visa agent from the official list10 minutes
3Fill in Form 14A and upload documents and photo30–60 minutes
4Pay the visa fee plus the agent's service chargeSame day
5Receive your e-visa by email and print itUsually 3–5 working days
6Submit the free SG Arrival CardWithin 3 days before arrival

Step 1: Choose an authorised visa agent

Indian citizens apply through authorised visa agents appointed by the Singapore government, not directly on the ICA website. The current list is published by ICA and the Singapore High Commission and includes large travel companies and visa centres in most Indian cities. Many let you apply fully online, and most travel agents can lodge it for you if you prefer.

Avoid fake sitesOnly use agents from the official list. Search ads often show look-alike "Singapore visa" sites that charge far more.

Step 2: Documents to keep ready

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date, with a blank page. Scan the front and back pages.
  • Form 14A (the visa application form), filled in and signed. Your agent will share it or fill it online with you.
  • A recent photo that meets the rules below.
  • Return flight booking and hotel booking or an invitation letter if staying with family.
  • Proof of finances and ties, which agents commonly ask for: recent bank statements, salary slips or ITR, and a leave letter or business proof. Requirements vary slightly by agent.
  • For children: birth certificate and parents' passport copies. For students, a college or school ID.

Step 3: Get the photo right

The photo is the most common reason applications get sent back.

  • Recent (taken within the last 3 months), colour, plain white background
  • Face centred, looking straight at the camera, both ears visible, neutral expression
  • No spectacles glare (removing glasses is safest), no caps; religious headwear is fine if the face is fully visible
  • Same photo across all your documents is not required, but it must clearly match your passport

Step 4: Fees and processing time

The Singapore government visa fee is small (about S$30), and the agent adds a service charge. In total, most travellers pay roughly ₹2,500–3,500 per person depending on the agent. Processing usually takes 3 to 5 working days, longer around Diwali, summer holidays and December, so apply at least 2–3 weeks before you fly.

Step 5: Your e-visa and how long you can stay

The approved visa arrives as a PDF. Print it and keep a copy on your phone. Singapore visas for Indians are often issued as multiple-entry visas, but the validity is decided by ICA and printed on your visa, so read it carefully. The number of days you can stay on each visit (commonly up to 30 days) is decided by the immigration officer when you arrive.

Combining Singapore with Malaysia? If you're leaving Singapore for Malaysia and coming back, check that your visa allows more than one entry. See our Singapore to Malaysia guide.

Step 6: The SG Arrival Card (free)

Every visitor must submit the SG Arrival Card within 3 days before arriving in Singapore. It's free on the official ICA website or the MyICA Mobile app and takes five minutes: passport details, flight, address in Singapore and a health declaration. You'll get a confirmation email; keep it handy.

Never pay for the arrival cardSome websites charge a "processing fee" for the SG Arrival Card. The official one is free.

At Changi Airport

Have your passport, printed visa, return ticket and hotel details ready. Many visitors can now use the automated immigration lanes; if you're directed to a counter, the officer may ask how long you're staying and where. Answer simply and you're through in minutes.

Transiting through Singapore?

Singapore has a 96-hour Visa-Free Transit Facility for some travellers. Indians flying between two other countries may qualify if they hold a valid visa or residence permit for certain countries (such as the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan or Schengen states) and meet the airline and onward-ticket conditions. Check the exact rules on the ICA website before relying on it.

Common mistakes that cause delays

  • Photo with a coloured background, shadows or glasses glare
  • Name spelt differently on the form and the passport
  • Passport expiring within 6 months of travel
  • Unsigned Form 14A or missing pages from the passport scan
  • Applying too late during peak season
